Meet Nathan Miceli!

Nate Miceli is an 18-year old freeskier living in Park City, Utah. He started skiing when he was 4 years old. He was a competitive Alpine Racer between the ages of 5 and 13, competing in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. When he wasn’t racing, he could always be found in the Terrain Park. He decided to pursue his true passion of freeskiing at the age of 14 and ever since then he’s been chasing his dreams!

Q. What is your favorite outdoor sport and why?
A.
My favorite outdoor sport is definitely skiing. I get to go to some really cool places
and there’s nothing better than being out on the mountain with your friends
learning new tricks and meeting new people.Screen Shot 2015-08-27 at 7.48.19 PM

Q. Where is your favorite place to travel to?
A.
My favorite place to travel to would be Whistler, BC. I’ve only been out there once, but
it sure was one hell of a trip. We got to hit amazing jumps and ski some of the best
terrain I’ve ever gotten the chance to ski. I hope I get the opportunity to get out
there this season!Screen Shot 2015-08-27 at 7.50.38 PM

Q. What is your favorite thing about competition? Can you tell us one of your favorite stories from a specific competition?
A.
My favorite thing about competing is the pressure of having to get things done. You get to the mountain, you get the run of straight airs, a run of threes and sevens, and then you do your run. It all happens in 3 runs. Doesn’t matter what the weather is, doesn’t matter whether you like the course or not you’re there to do your best and put down something you’re happy with. My favorite competition so far was last years USSA Junior Nationals. The weather was perfect, it was right here in Park City, I had a bunch of friends in finals and the comp went a little late so we got to ski after the mountain closed which was kind of cool to me for some reason.Screen Shot 2015-08-27 at 8.29.20 PM

Q. How did you get into photography?
A.
Photography is a whole different story; it doesn’t really have much of a story. I one day picked up my dad’s camera and just began taking pictures of anything and everything. I then saved up for my own and now I use it as a way to document the places I’ve been and the things I’ve been fortunate enough to see, through my eyes of course.Screen Shot 2015-08-27 at 7.55.06 PM

My plans for this season are to film as much as possible and to try and get some good results to compete in some bigger competitions. Special thanks to Atomic Skis, Planks, Monster Army, ENO, and now Ripclear!
